Alleys of Punjar
Both a ward and the immense bazaar that gives the ward its name, The Souk [SOOK] is the driving force behind Punjar’s economy and is busy day and night. The buildings are an eclectic mix of new and old, with stone counting houses from the early days of the city next to beam and plaster buildings, and tent camps holding caravans just arrived from the trails. Every man, woman, and child you meet has a scheme to get ahead, and love a gamble. However, no matter the outcome of a scheme, debts are always expected to be paid. Those that do not still end up paying their delinquent debt, typically extracted by hired thugs, in “blood gold.” Foreigners of every sort are welcome, there is no tolerance for racism or bigotry here – it’s bad for business.
